The District Court of Luxembourg rules that the attachment proceedings in Luxembourg should be stayed until a decision is rendered in the criminal proceedings currently underway before the Investigating Judge in Luxembourg.

The Court of Cassation of Luxembourg overturns the judgment of the Court of Appeal dated 19 December 2019 which confirmed the recognition of the arbitral award in Luxembourg.

The Court of Appeal of Luxembourg ruled in favour of Kazakhstan and stayed the Statis’ efforts to recognize and enforce their fraudulent arbitral award. The basis for the stay was the ongoing criminal court proceedings against the Statis in Luxembourg for forgery, fraud and money laundering.
